Financial support to public research organisations for the commercialisation of research results. Actions to be supported:
• performance of feasibility studies;
• developing a commercialisation strategy;
• industrial research;
• experimental developments;
• participation in international exhibitions, contact shops; conferences (seminars) abroad, individual visits and participation in national stands and trade missions organised by the LIAA;
• strengthening of industrial ownership: preparation, registration and maintenance of patent applications for invention;
• preparation of commercialisation offers, including the recruitment of experts to advance commercialisation offers on the market;
• attracting experts to prepare licensing and other intellectual property transfer agreements.
The purpose of the service is to promote the commercialisation of research results owned by research organisations in Latvia and abroad, with a view to increasing the income of research organisations from the commercialisation of research results, or by converting research results into a successful business.
Support is provided to public research organisations for the commercialisation of research results.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    The service project submission phase has been completed. As part of the service, it is currently possible to submit payment requests and progress reports to projects that have already been approved.

  2. Receipt of services
    As part of the receipt of the aid, the research organisation shall:
    • submit the LIAA progress report at least every 3 months;
    • submit a payment request at least once every 6 months.
    Documents to be submitted: progress reports and payment requests.
    Following an evaluation of the progress report and the payment request, an aid payment shall be made to the beneficiary in accordance with the internal procedures of the LAA.
